About the role
Position: Lead Cloud Security Architect (Azure)
Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 10+ Years Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Security Architect (Azure) to lead the design, implementation, and governance of secure Azure cloud environments for enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure security architecture, cloud security frameworks, Zero Trust, DevSecOps, and regulatory compliance, along with strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure Azure cloud architectures following Zero Trust, Defense-in-Depth, and Secure-by-Design principles.
- Lead cloud security assessments, architecture reviews, and security roadmap development.
- Build and deploy Azure security controls for application migrations from on-premises environments.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Policy-as-Code for secure cloud deployments.
- Configure and manage Azure security services, Microsoft Defender, CNAPP/CWPP, and DevSecOps security tools.
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS, CSA CCM, Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark) and regulatory standards (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP).
- Design cloud IAM, network security, container security, key management, logging, monitoring, SIEM, incident response, and vulnerability management solutions.
- Collaborate with clients, lead technical workshops, mentor engineering teams, and manage stakeholder expectations.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 4–5 years in Azure security.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender, Prisma Cloud, Azure Entra ID, DevSecOps, IaC, and Policy-as-Code.
- Expertise in Azure Security Reference Architecture, Microsoft Cloud Security Reference Architecture (MCRA), and Well-Architected Framework.
- Experience with CNAPP/CWPP, WAF, Next-Gen Firewalls, SASE, EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, backup & recovery, and threat management.
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking, IAM, encryption, key management, secrets management, and cloud governance.
- Experience with security tools such as Palo Alto, Qualys VMDR, CrowdStrike Falcon, Zscaler, Snyk, Aqua CNAPP, and Imperva WAF.
- Excellent communication, consulting, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
- CISSP certification is mandatory.
- Azure Security or Cloud Security certifications are highly preferred.
