Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Technology Architect to lead the design, infrastructure transformation, and integration of enterprise-level platforms within a complex public sector healthcare environment. This role focuses on developing scalable, secure, and highly available solutions while aligning technology strategies with business goals and digital transformation initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and vendor partners to deliver robust, modern, and efficient technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities Lead architecture design and transformation of enterprise platforms to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency Develop and maintain comprehensive technology strategies and integrated architecture frameworks Collaborate with internal teams and external vendor partners to ensure solution availability and performance Apply best practices across design, development, deployment, and operations aligned with enterprise standards Define infrastructure, application, network, and system requirements Design, test, implement, and monitor new systems and solutions Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timelines Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members Act as a senior advisor, coordinating deliverables and managing vendor/consultant contributions Translate business requirements into technical designs in collaboration with business analysts Prepare technical reports, architecture documents, presentations, and implementation plans Support development of business requirements and project scope definition Liaise with stakeholders across all organizational levels Provide objective advice on I&IT strategies and solutions Ensure quality assurance and control across deliverables
Qualifications Public Sector Experience 5+ years of experience in provincial, federal, or broader public-sector healthcare environments Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and processes Experience with public-sector IT project methodologies and compliance requirements Familiarity with digital health standards, architecture processes, and data management frameworks Knowledge of healthcare IT domains such as immunization, pharmacy, lab, and drug systems Understanding of healthcare registries and master data management concepts Technical Skills (10+ years) Design & Implementation: Experience designing cloud-based solutions aligned with AWS and Azure Well-Architected Frameworks Expertise in highly available architectures including RDS multi-zone deployments and disaster recovery Experience with APIs, ETL pipelines, and modern web technologies Strong understanding of hybrid, on-prem, and cloud-based architectures including PaaS and containerization Knowledge of emerging technologies such as mobile platforms, API ecosystems, and GenAI trends Solution Delivery: Experience building and supporting mission-critical systems using Java/JEE, JavaScript, and Node.js Experience with mobile application development (iOS and Android, native and hybrid) Knowledge of authentication solutions including PKI, MFA, and Single Sign-On Architecture & Integration: Experience implementing healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR, HL7 V2/V3, CDA, and IHE Knowledge of SNOMED-CT and LOINC terminology standards Strong collaboration experience within cross-functional architecture and development teams Core Skills Proven technical leadership and problem-solving abilities Experience managing deliverables, timelines, and resources Strong risk identification and mitigation planning experience Ability to design end-to-end enterprise solutions Strong documentation and reporting skills Knowledge of information management principles and best practices General Skills Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders Strong negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in complex environments
