Senior Identity Management Architect
About the role
Millenilink is supporting a high-impact engagement with a consulting client working with a financial services end client, focused on a Next-Generation Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) modernization initiative. The client is seeking two resources to operate in an advisory capacity on a strategy-led engagement centered around assessing their current SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) environment and defining a future-state IGA vision.
Role Overview
This engagement is not an implementation project, but rather a strategic assessment and roadmap initiative. The client currently operates a hybrid IAM/IGA environment, anchored by SailPoint IIQ, with broader IAM capabilities spanning tools such as Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), CyberArk, and various legacy and custom integrations. The environment is characterized by fragmented governance processes, inconsistent identity lifecycle management, limited visibility into access, and increasing pressure to modernize in line with regulatory expectations, SaaS adoption, and Zero Trust principles.
The objective of this engagement is to evaluate the current IGA landscape, identify modernization opportunities, and define a scalable, future-state IGA strategy. This includes assessing migration readiness from on-premise SailPoint IIQ to a SaaS-based IGA platform (e.g., SailPoint ISC) or other providers, evaluating adjacent IAM capabilities (such as ITDR, machine identities, and AI-enabled identity operations), and developing a clear roadmap and business case to support transformation.
Success in this role will be defined by the ability to deliver a comprehensive current-state assessment, articulate a forward-looking IGA strategy, and produce actionable deliverables that guide the client’s modernization journey. This includes aligning stakeholders across business and technology, influencing decision-making at the executive level, and enabling the client to confidently move toward a modern, cloud-aligned identity governance model.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed current-state assessments of the client’s IGA environment, including SailPoint IIQ, integrations, governance processes, and operating model Evaluate migration readiness and identify opportunities to transition from on-prem IGA to SaaS-based solutions (SailPoint ISC or other cloud solutions) Perform industry benchmarking and market analysis to identify leading practices and next-generation IGA trends Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and understand pain points Define future-state business and technical requirements, including target operating model and governance framework Support vendor evaluation activities and contribute to platform selection decisions in a vendor-agnostic manner Develop key strategy artifacts including business cases, migration roadmaps, and executive-level presentations Support a targeted proof of concept to validate next-generation IGA capabilities Provide subject matter expertise across IAM domains including lifecycle management, access certifications, role management, Zero Trust, ITDR, and machine identities
Required Experience
Strong IGA technical expertise, specifically with SailPoint IIQ and/or SailPoint ISC and ideally 1 to 2 other vendors Experience leading or supporting migrations from on-prem IGA solutions to SaaS platforms Proven IAM/IGA strategy and target-state design experience Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement capabilities Understanding of adjacent IAM domains (lifecycle management, access certifications, role management, Zero Trust, ITDR, machine identities) Ability to develop high-quality deliverables and confidently present to client stakeholders
