About the role
🚨 Now Hiring: Product Control SME / Product Owner (Capital Markets) 📍 Location: Downtown Toronto | Hybrid (2-3 days/week onsite) An exciting opportunity has become available within a growing Operational Technology team supporting Capital Markets. As the team continues to build its Product Owner capability, we are seeking an experienced Product Control SME who combines deep operational expertise with strong project delivery experience. This role is ideal for someone who has built their career within Product Control Operations and has transitioned into delivering change initiatives, process improvements, or strategic projects. You'll serve as the key subject matter expert between Operations and Technology, helping drive critical initiatives while ensuring business requirements are translated into successful technology solutions. This is an initial 12-month contract with a strong possibility of converting into a permanent position as the team continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Product Control subject matter expert across operational and project initiatives.
- Partner with Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic change.
- Support the development of Product Owner capabilities within the Operational Technology team.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across Product Control.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of technology and process changes.
About the Team The successful candidate will support the Product Control Technology function within Capital Markets. The team is responsible for the daily Profit & Loss (P&L) production and control processes, including:
- Morning reconciliation of daily trading P&L.
- Afternoon reconciliation of P&L to the General Ledger (GL) to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
- Supporting critical financial controls and operational processes across the Capital Markets business.
Qualifications ✔ Strong Product Control Operations experience, including daily trading P&L production and reconciliation of P&L to the General Ledger (GL). ✔ Strong knowledge of Capital Markets products, including Fixed Income, Equities, Foreign Exchange (FX), Interest Rates, and related products. ✔ Experience delivering projects, business transformation, or change initiatives. ✔ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. ✔ Ability to bridge the gap between business operations and technology teams. ✔ Experience working within Agile environments or alongside Product Owners is considered an asset.
