Job Overview
We are currently looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician (Industrial Mechanic/Millwright) to join the Rozen Steelworks team in Acheson, AB. Rozen Steelworks specializes in the fabrication of pressure piping, power piping, and structural steel.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all shop equipment and facilities. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on CNC and fabrication equipment including OMAX waterjet table, Messer and Peddinghaus cutting and plasma machines, brake press, plate rolling machine, and weld overlay machinery. Maintain facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, overhead cranes, electrical distribution, and building infrastructure. Build and maintain a work order and equipment history tracking system (CMMS or equivalent). Manage spare parts and consumables inventory; source parts and coordinate with suppliers and vendors. Enforce Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and all applicable OH&S regulations. Conduct inspections, document maintenance activities, and report equipment uptime metrics to management. Liaise with contractors and OEM technical support for specialized repairs and certifications. Actively participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and incident investigations. Work as part of a team with co-workers and supervisors across all shop departments.
Qualifications
Red Seal or equivalent certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or closely related trade. Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience developing or managing a preventive maintenance program. Proficiency with hydraulic and pneumatic systems; ability to read and work from schematics. Competency with electrical systems up to 600V including motor controls and VFDs. Experience with CNC machine maintenance: controllers, servo drives, encoders, and linear motion systems. Strong knowledge of LOTO, confined space, and working-at-heights procedures. Must be able to work independently and as a team in a busy, fast-paced environment. Able and willing to work overtime as required. Valid Class 5 driver's license with reliable transportation to Acheson, AB. Experience with waterjet, plasma cutting, or weld overlay equipment is a strong asset.
