We are hiring a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and integrate enterprise-scale, multi-tier business applications for the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. This role is ideal for an experienced full-stack developer with 10+ years of enterprise application development, expertise in REST/SOAP services, Oracle technologies, Java/JEE, .NET, and proven experience leading technical teams through the complete software development lifecycle.

The successful candidate will possess strong solution architecture, systems integration, technical leadership, and enterprise application development experience while working within large, complex IT environments.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Analysis, Design & Architecture (30%)

Collaborate with Business Analysts to analyze business and technical requirements. Design enterprise application architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical solution models. Produce architecture deliverables and participate in architecture review checkpoints. Conduct technical design walkthroughs and solution reviews. Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and user guides. Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and development standards.

Application Development & Systems Integration (30%)

Design, develop, and integrate enterprise software solutions. Develop scalable multi-tier applications using REST APIs, SOAP/WSDL services, JSON/XML messaging, and modern UI technologies. Integrate applications with internal and third-party enterprise systems. Develop reusable, maintainable, and secure application components. Support application deployment and configuration management activities.

Testing, Quality Assurance & Knowledge Transfer (20%)

Develop unit and integration test cases. Perform unit and integration testing. Collaborate with testing teams on functional, performance, and vulnerability testing. Resolve defects and optimize application performance. Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and technical walkthroughs for project team members. Prepare technical support and transition documentation.

Technical Leadership & Project Support (20%)

Provide technical leadership to developers, system analysts, and testers. Lead solution design and code review sessions. Estimate development effort and support project planning activities. Coordinate development activities to ensure timely delivery. Support project management processes and ITIL best practices. Work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and service delivery partners.

Public Sector Experience (Highly Preferred)

Experience working within Ontario Public Sector (OPS) or other government organizations. Understanding of government IT standards, architecture governance, security, privacy, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with government policies, procedures, directives, and enterprise architecture frameworks.
