About the role
Scope
The Solutions Architect CRM supports the delivery of the OPGT Modernization program by providing technical leadership for Microsoft Dynamics 365. The role is responsible for: Defining and maintaining the end-to-end technical architecture across application, data, and integration domains. Ensuring all configurations and customizations align with OPS enterprise architecture and security standards. Leading the design of complex integrations between Dynamics 365, internal legacy systems, and Azure data platforms. Mentoring the development team and reviewing technical designs to ensure scalability and maintainability.
Assignment Deliverables
Architecture Design Artifacts: Detailed conceptual, logical, and physical models for D365 processes and data structures. Integration Strategy: Design and implementation oversight for interfaces using Azure Integration Services and Data Factory. Governance Documentation: Preparation and presentation of materials for the OPS Architectural Review Board (ARB) and Cyber Security Assessments. Deployment & CI/CD Strategy: Establishing robust version control and automated build/release pipelines.
Requirements
Experience and Skill Set Requirements: Must Haves: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Ecosystem Expertise: Deep hands-on experience architecting and integrating solutions specifically within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and Finance & Operations (F&O).
Skill Set Requirements
Mandatory Requirements: Extensive Enterprise Architecture Leadership: At least 8 years of experience leading the strategic implementation and architectural design of enterprise-level solutions within complex, distributed environments. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Ecosystem Expertise: Deep hands-on experience architecting and integrating solutions specifically within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and Finance & Operations (F&O). Azure Cloud & Integration Proficiency: Proven expertise in designing end-to-end architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure services (e.g., App Services, Data Factory, Synapse) and establishing robust CI/CD strategies. OPS Governance & Strategic Communication: Demonstrated experience navigating Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes, including securing approvals from the Architectural Review Board (ARB) and Cyber Security Assessments.
Desired Skills and Experience
Microsoft Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and Finance & Operations (F&O) functionalities, proficiency in the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse), familiarity with D365 development tools (C#, X++, Power FX), and strong understanding of D365 data models. Enterprise Architecture & Strategic Design: Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in developing and managing complex technical architectures, expertise in creating design artifacts, ability to define optimal technology stacks for various environments, and experience with structured methodologies for large-scale enterprise applications. Cloud, Data, & Integration Acumen: Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure services (App Services, Azure SQL, Networking, Security Center), experience designing large-scale integrations, proficiency in defining strategic approaches for data warehousing (Azure Synapse Analytics), and understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices. Governance, Leadership, & Communication: Experience navigating the OPS Architectural Review Board (ARB) and Cyber Security Assessments (Threat Risk Assessments), superior communication skills to translate complex technical challenges, proven ability to gain buy-in from diverse teams, and ability to proactively identify and mitigate architectural risks.
Technical Architectural & Microsoft Ecosystem Expertise
Proven experience in leading architectural design for enterprise-level Dynamics 365 (CE and F&O) implementations. Expert knowledge of Azure cloud services (App Services, Dataverse, Synapse) and the Power Platform ecosystem.
Strategic Design & Governance Acumen
Experience navigating OPS-specific governance, including the Architectural Review Board (ARB) and Threat Risk Assessments (TRA). Ability to translate business requirements into complex technical and information architectures.
Leadership & Communication Skills
Strong communication skills to articulate technical solutions to non-technical senior leadership. Proven ability to gain consensus among diverse project stakeholders and vendor resources.
DevOps & Performance Optimization
Experience establishing CI/CD strategies and optimizing system performance across distributed cloud environments.
