Role Description This full-time, on-site role is based in Toronto, ON and includes openings for Relief Veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians. Relief Veterinarians will perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, provide preventive care, review diagnostic results, and communicate treatment plans to clients. Registered Veterinary Technicians will support clinical workflows through patient handling, sample collection, laboratory testing, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, and nursing care. Both positions will collaborate closely with clinic teams to maintain accurate medical records, ensure a safe and clean environment, and uphold clinic protocols and standards of care. Team members will also participate in client education, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support a culture of empathy, professionalism, and respect. Qualifications Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Veterinarian or Registered Veterinary Technician in Ontario, with strong clinical skills in examination, diagnosis, treatment, and patient monitoring. Experience in small animal practice, including routine preventive care, surgery or anesthesia support, dentistry, and emergency or urgent care handling. Proficiency with veterinary medical records systems, diagnostic equipment, and standard clinic software, along with attention to detail in documentation and follow-up. Effective communication skills for explaining treatment plans, educating clients, and collaborating within multidisciplinary veterinary teams. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, prioritize cases, and maintain composure and empathy during stressful situations. Commitment to continuing education, evidence-based medicine, and adherence to professional and regulatory standards in Ontario. Flexibility to work varied shifts, reliability in providing relief coverage, and willingness to adapt to different clinic settings and protocols. Additional training or experience in fear-free handling, practice management, or specialized areas (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, behavior) is an asset.
