The Position: Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements. The incumbent will work with production management to provide feedback regarding the accuracy of procedures while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture. What You’ll Be Doing: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Examine products and materials for defects or deviations from manufacturer or industry specifications. Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, laser tracker, portable measuring arms by using Pc-dmis and Polyworks software Work with Quality Engineers and Quality Manager to determine best practices to control quality on the manufacturing/assembly floor Inspect welded joints for visible defects, correct dimensions, bead formation and conformance with drawing specification. Examine joints to detect flaws such as cracks, cold weld, spatter and undercut. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations Engage in proactive measures, such as developing and implementing continuous improvement programs covering production processes and quality management systems Work with members of the supply chain to ensure the quality of raw materials, components or sub-assemblies and supporting documentation, meets Eclipse’s quality standards Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the organization. Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action Project Execution Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to balance priorities and work under short timelines Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely Complete other duties and projects as assigned Ensure scheduled milestones are met Notify the appropriate departments if milestones are not met Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate Vision Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business Travel: Expectation of travel to Eclipse locations is less than 10% of time, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet organizational needs What We’re Looking For: Education: Graduate secondary school education in QA/QC or related discipline at the College level or relative experience ASQ designation as a CQI or CQT, or 3-5 years’ work experience in QA/QC role CWB weld inspector level 1 training and certification preferred or relevant experience Experience: Working knowledge of measurement instruments Read and understand blueprints and specifications Good arithmetic skills are required Experience with weld inspection Mechanical aptitude desired General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word What We Offer:
