The typical salary range for this position is $41 280.00 - $54 180.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.
This posting is for an existing temporary, full-time position ending on September 4th, 2026.
SUMMARY: Metro is seeking a motivated Product Development Assistant to support our Corporate Brands Product Development team in development of food and non-food product.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Assist with development, preparation and testing of new and existing products. *Participate in product evaluations in a group setting. *Evaluate preparation instructions for new and existing products. *Assist with product shopping and market reviews. *Recipe evaluation and development for new and existing products. *Support cross-functional collaboration with QA, and business teams. *Record and track product samples, and other tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Enrolled in a Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or related undergraduate program. *Experience in product development an asset *Enjoy cooking and trying new cuisines/recipes *Basic understanding of safe food handling, Servsafe certificate an asset. *Highly organized, able to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously *Ability to work both collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and independently as required. *Great communication skills *Microsoft Excel – data analysis, charts, basic statistics. *Microsoft Word & PowerPoint – documentation and presentations.
