Position Description
**Title:**Forklift Driver
**Status:**Full-Time
**Position Purpose:**To help us reach our goals we are looking for energetic, motivated individuals to join our team in Truro, NS in the role of a Forklift Driver. This is an expected full-time position that may have adjusted hours due to operational requirements.
Principle Accountabilities
- Transporting raw materials to various machines across the plant.
- Removing finished product from the various machines.
- All transportation must be conducted in an orderly and safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Forklift license preferred, experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Demonstrate ability to read (plant orders, production schedules) and write (record keeping, paperwork).
- Math skills are also required when dealing with the large quantity of goods used and produced in the plant.
- Approximately 1 to 3 months of on-the-job learning time is required to learn the different components of the job (i.e., how to operate forklift, how to best organize the floor, what materials are used by which machines).
What We Offer
- Starting wage from $20 to $22 an hour (depending on experience)
- Paid weekly
- Low commute times from Stewiacke, Belmont, Salmon River, Millbrook, Truro/ Truro Heights, Hilden, and Brookfield.
- Shift premiums for night shifts and weekends
- PPE provided
- On-site cafeteria
- 12-hour shifts on rotation between day and night shift
- 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am
