##Landscape Maintenance Worker

Full Time Permanent

POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, this position maintains TFN parks, boulevards, and public spaces. The role performs horticultural, turf, and general maintenance duties while supporting broader Public Works operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain landscaped areas including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and watering

• Maintain parks, boulevards, sports fields, trees, and rights-of-way

• Assist with pathways, irrigation, playgrounds, and site infrastructure

• Operate trucks, skid steer, mowers, tractors, and landscape equipment

• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively

• Complete inspections, logs, and basic equipment maintenance

• Provide traffic control and respond to public inquiries

• Collect data and support inventory tracking systems

• Assist other Public Works operations as required

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Minimum 2 years of landscape maintenance or horticulture experience preferred

• Experience with municipal or commercial landscape work preferred

• Experience with irrigation systems, including basic troubleshooting is considered an asset.

• Pesticide Applicator Certification is considered an asset

• Knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance practices

• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of equipment safely

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

• Criminal Record Check required

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Outdoor, physical work in varying weather conditions

• Exposure to equipment, noise, traffic, and environmental conditions

• Occasional lifting of heavy materials and equipment

• Hours of work are a scheduled total of 40 hours per week

• Standard hours Monday–Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, with occasional evening or weekend work based on community needs

COMPENSATION

• $28 to $33 per hour. Placement within the pay scale is based on a review of skills, experience and internal equity

• Annual cost of living increases

• BC Municipal Pension Plan – employee contributes 8.61%, employer contributes 9.31%
