About the role
Position Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Sr. QA & Regulatory Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Company and Quality Management Programs, regulatory compliance, specific customer requirements as well as compliance to all certification requirements. This job is onsite and requires 100 % of the day spent in production or as required per business needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Demonstrate and uphold Company Core Values. Take OWNERSHIP of Company Food Safety and Quality Management Programs for assigned sites which includes maintenance, implementation and verification of procedures, documents, validations and processes to ensure compliance to internal programs, GFSI, claim certifications and government regulations. Own the onsite GMP and food safety program. Serve as the backup for the QA Coordinator for food safety and quality compliance related concerns/issues. Support in establishing and maintaining the food safety culture among the floor employees. Conduct routine pre-operational inspections and other routine GMP inspections to identify non-conformances to assure compliance to sanitation standards. Verify procedures and records such as CCP, critical limits, weights as per scheduled monitoring frequencies. Verify deviation procedures and steps taken in the event of non-conformances. Communicate test results and provide recommendations for production personnel to ensure finished products are within specifications. Sample and perform sensory evaluation (where applicable) of incoming ingredients and outgoing finished products. Verify packaging artwork to ensure they meet approved specifications, assist production operators in conducting qualitative and quantitative testing of finished goods. Perform scheduled glass/plastic inspections, environmental and sanitation swabbing. Perform visual inspections of the receiving area, warehouse and production floor to ensure no pest infestation and ensure cleanliness and good hygiene practices. Support root cause analysis on external complaints and internal non conformances. Maintain the highest possible housekeeping standards to prevent microbial contamination. Maintain all related records and ensure verification as required. Support/participate in completing documents, process reviews and audits. Keeps the atmosphere FUN by keeping it light and welcoming. Other duties as assigned, as per business needs.
Reporting Relationships
The position reports directly to the Sr. QA & Regulatory Coordinator. There are no direct reports.
Education & Qualifications
High school diploma/education or other related vocational degree/certification.
Third-party HACCP trained (preferable, not mandatory)
A minimum of 1 year of quality assurance/production experience in the food industry (preferable). Knowledge of ERP software, preferably SAP. Must have working knowledge and be comfortable/adept with Microsoft tools, data analysis and reporting. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a diverse team environment. Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle tight deadlines. Must be flexible with work hours and be available to come on weekends occasionally, as required.
