GENERAL LABOUR - OPERATOR

DUNDALK FABRIC PLANT

About the Role

At the Dundalk plant, reliable and hardworking General Labour/Operators support daily operations at our fabric manufacturing facility.

Members of this team produce custom polyethylene covers, including cutting, sewing, and hot air welding to meet specific client requirements. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, weld, sew, and alter large-scale fabric based on work orders and specifications
• Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints.
• Operate and assist with industrial sewing machines and hot air welding equipment
• Support layout, assembly and finishing of custom projects
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
• Handle and move materials, products and equipment safely
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ensure proper care of equipment and supplies.
• Follow all safety procedures and workplace policies
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality are essential—consistent attendance is critical to team success.
• Proven ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
• Good communication and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to read a tape measure (imperial units).
• Experience using Hot Air Welding equipment (asset)
• Experience using Industrial Sewing Machines (asset)
• Experience on safe operation of Forklifts and other material handling equipment (asset)
• CAD drawings and blueprints (asset)
• Commitment to all safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day.
• Frequent lifting (up to 60 lbs.), bending, carrying, turning, and pulling.
• Manual dexterity for handling fabrics and operating equipment
• Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions.

Working Conditions

• Industrial manufacturing setting
• Exposure to heat from welding equipment and machinery noise
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
