Job Summary
As part of the Inclusion Support team, the Inclusion Support Coordinator will support inclusive education practices for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Working closely with school-based teams and district staff, the Coordinator will provide leadership, coaching, and consultation to strengthen capacity in inclusive learning environments.
The Coordinator will have demonstrated expertise in behaviour intervention, functional behaviour assessment, and the development and implementation of individualized support plans. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with experience in data-informed decision-making, are essential for success in this role.
The Coordinator's work aligns closely with the priorities of the NLPS Strategic Plan and the district’s commitment to improving student outcomes through inclusive practices , responsive supports , and evidence‑informed decision‑making****. A strong understanding of trauma‑informed approaches and culturally responsive practice is essential, along with experience supporting behaviour and learning needs in diverse classroom settings. Experience in Grades 8–12 is preferred. The successful applicant will bring an understanding of local Indigenous perspectives and will help foster learning environments that honour the histories, cultures, identities, and strengths of all learners, with particular attention to priority populations.
This is a position of special responsibility and will be filled by competition.
Salary Range: $68,343 - $118,690
**Assignment: **1.0 Term Contract until June 30, 2027
**Your **Duties
Instructional and Program Support**
- Assists teachers and Education Assistants in differentiating instruction.
- Assists in identifying student strengths and needs, and in determining appropriate goals and objectives for Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provides consultative support and mentorship to staff in:
- functional curriculum design;
- social thinking and social skills training;
- sensory management strategies;
- life skills programming;
- toileting and self-help programming;
- Assists in identifying materials, resources, and equipment required for student programs.
- Provides training for teachers and Education Assistants in the use of assistive technology.
Inclusion, Collaboration, and Transition Support

Provides and/or arranges in-service training sessions regarding inclusion practices.

Trauma informed practice, culturally responsive practice and responsive supports are essential.

Models inclusive practices and shares strategies to support diverse learners in classroom settings.

Facilitates student transitions, grade-to-grade, post graduation, and elementary to secondary school.
**Education and Certification **
- Professional Certification through the BC Teacher Certification Branch
- Master’s Degree Special Education, or equivalent training and experience
- Bachelor of Education is required
**Additional Requirements **
- Classroom teaching experience is secondary settings preferred
- Experience and training related to school settings
