About the position:
We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic, compassionate, innovative, and inspiring business teacher to join our school family to teach one to two courses. A person with integrity, the successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students to make a difference in the lives of others. King David is a young and growing school with approximately 275 students and 50 staff members. We are looking for an educator who will thrive in a relational setting and will support and implement a competency-based approach to teaching while caring for and supporting students’ emotional well-being and development. The specific courses and teaching schedule will be determined depending on the successful candidate’s skills.****
The successful candidate will have a love of business and a joy for teaching adolescents. We are looking for candidates who truly want to use their passion to make a difference in the lives of our students. You must value diversity as it relates to all people, including aspects of identity, and have respect for indigenous traditions and ways of knowing. We also want you to know that you will be a valued and cared-for member of our school team.
Requirements for the position:
- Be certified to teach in British Columbia with a university degree in this teaching discipline****
- A documented ability to teach with kindness and flexibility to support students in their learning
- A desire to always improve one’s teaching practice and the learning experience for students
- A strong understanding of the BC business curriculum.
- Experience designing learning and assessment using a backward design approach (Understanding by Design), with attention to clear learning goals, authentic assessment, and ongoing feedback.
