JOB DESCRIPTION
St. Joseph the Worker Elementary School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and skilled Learning Support Teacher to join our dedicated Learning Resource Department starting September 1, 2026. The ideal candidate is looking to join a school where the staff work as a team to nurture and develop the whole child; mind, body and spirit. This role is essential in ensuring our neurodiverse learners receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
As our second Learning Support Teacher, you will work closely with our Lead Resource Teacher, classroom teachers, and educational assistants. Your primary focus will be supporting students from Kindergarten through Grade 7 with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Competency-Based Individual Education Plans
- Provide direct 1-on-1 or small group instruction to neurodiverse students.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement universal design for learning and differentiated instruction.
- Facilitate integrated case team meetings with parents and external professionals (SLPs, OTs, etc.).
- Support the social-emotional growth of students within an inclusive environment.
