About the Role:
Are you a tenacious, organized, and creative professional eager to make your mark in the world of talk radio?
We’re searching for our next part-time Chase Producer, someone with a passion for storytelling and a knack for uncovering fresh perspectives to join our team.
Reporting to the Director of Talk & Talent, you will play a key role in shaping the content that keeps our listeners engaged and informed!
In this fast-paced role, you’ll chase down compelling guests, pitch captivating stories, edit and produce content that’s informative, locally focused, and resonates with our diverse audience.
You'll also have the opportunity to backfill produce our flagship talk shows, ensuring that our programs continue to reflect the vibrant voices and stories of the Greater Vancouver region.

You will contribute by:

Pitch and develop original stories for broadcast, social, and digital media.

Chase and book guests, setting up programming debates and forums.

Build shows with depth and focus, ensuring alignment with the show’s editorial priorities.

Research news and current affairs stories for both broadcast and digital platforms.

Cut audio clips to add colour and immediacy to radio segments.

Develop a diverse contact list of insiders, experts, newsmakers, reporters, and opinion leaders.

Produce special programming on impactful and complex topics.

Prepare show rundowns, guest background information, and research for stories.

Write teases and ensure promo liners and other show elements are captured in show rundowns.

Collaborate with hosts, producers, and contributors on story development and show focus.

Participate in pre- and post-show production meetings.

Adhere to ethical principles of journalism.

Meet and exceed ratings expectations.

Perform other duties as required.
Skills and experience you will bring:
-
Post-secondary education in journalism, broadcasting, or a related field.

A tenacious approach to booking guests and newsmakers to join our hosts on-air.

Must have a passion for BC politics, current events, and the stories that matter to people in the Lower Mainland.

Ability to write for all media platforms, with expertise in audio editing and proficiency with social media.

A solid background in news, preferably in radio, with strong interviewing skills and a deep knowledge of local and national news events.

Excellent organizational and time management skills to keep everything running smoothly.

Familiarity with Burli, multitrack audio editing, and a keen eye for social media trends.
