We are hiring for a Host, Wildlight Kitchen + Bar at our location in Vancouver, BC near the UBC area.

You will be responsible for:

• Warmly greeting guests in a friendly and courteous manner, registering guest parking if required and escorting guests to tables and assisting in seating.
• Communicating any special instructions, allergies or celebrations on behalf of guests to the server.
• Maintaining a complete knowledge and understanding of menu items.
• Answering the phone, taking reservations in the reservation system, receiving takeout orders and ringing the orders in the system and answering inquiries from guests.
• Sweeping floors, cleaning the carpet at the front, cleaning the windows if needed, and other light cleaning duties as required.
• Ensuring that menus are accurate, clean and free of rips or stains.
• Assisting guests with locating their server if needed.
• Resetting tables and helping to clear if needed for both large and small groups of guests.
• Thanking guests and inviting them to return again at the end of their dining experience.
• Supporting other areas of the restaurant as necessary.

You have:

• Previous restaurant/host experience (considered an asset).
• Proficiency with computers and applications including POS systems (considered an asset).

You are:

• An excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Compensation Details:

$17.85 - $20.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
