###Job Description
ThePrevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment (PEACE) Counsellorprovides education and support to children and youth between the ages of 3 and 18 years old, who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence.
What you’ll be doing:

Individual art/play therapy sessions with children and youth.

Facilitating one psycho-educational group per year with children or youth of a similar age.

Facilitating a monthly evening arts activity to support connections between mothers and children/youth.

Providing information and referrals to parents/guardians of the children/youth.

Maintaining client files.

Keeping accurate statistics.
-
Other duties as required.
What you’ll need:
- Minimum educational requirement: A post secondary diploma in a related field (art therapy, counselling).
- Previous experience working with children and youth.
- Group facilitation experience would be an asset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A feminist understanding of intimate partner violence.
- Motivated to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
- Willingness to use Safetyline, Relias, ADP Workforce Now.
- A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
- The YWCA Metro Vancouver’s COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as a result, vaccination from COVID-19 is not required at this time. However, should circumstances change and the YWCA deem it necessary to reintroduce such policy, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to be eligible to continue performing your duties.

Pay Rate: $28.75 per hour
