About the role
Job Title: Senior Autodesk Vault Administrator – Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD Electrical & Autodesk Inventor
Experience Required: 7-10 Years
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Level 2/Level 3 administration, operational support, maintenance and troubleshooting of engineering design applications used by the Power Generation Engineering Department.
- Strong hands-on experience in Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Inventor, CAD/PDM administration, engineering document lifecycle support, application deployment, licensing, plugin compatibility and regulated utility support processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Administer and support Autodesk Vault environments, including user access, permissions, security controls, lifecycle states, revisions, document check-in/check-out and engineering data integrity.
- Provide CAD administration and application support for AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Inventor used by engineering design, drafting and power generation teams.
- Support engineering design workflows involving drawings, models, BOMs, component libraries, wire numbering, cable schedules, schematics, panel layouts and design documentation.
- Troubleshoot application crashes, performance issues, Vault synchronization, file locking, revision control, plugin compatibility and CAD data management issues.
- Support installation, configuration, packaging, deployment, patching, upgrades and license administration for Autodesk and related engineering applications.
- Provide support for SDS/UDH or equivalent utility design toolkits, add-ins and integrations used with AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Inventor.
- Coordinate with business users, engineering SMEs, infrastructure teams, database teams, vendors and product support teams for incident resolution and change implementation.
- Analyze incidents and recurring problems, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve application stability and user experience.
- Support engineering document control, digital signatures/seals, record retention, audit evidence and secure handling of engineering data where applicable.
- Participate in change, release, deployment validation, regression testing and post-implementation support activities for application updates and version upgrades.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles, configuration guides, release notes, support handover documents and troubleshooting procedures.
- Follow ITIL, security, access control, compliance and change management processes applicable to utility engineering application support.
Experience Required
- Good communication skills and ability to work with engineers, CAD designers, application owners, technical teams and support stakeholders.
- Minimum 7-10 years of IT/Engineering Application Support experience with strong exposure to Autodesk and CAD/PDM platforms.
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Autodesk Vault, including user/security management, lifecycle/revision management, file management and troubleshooting.
- Strong working experience with AutoCAD Electrical support, including electrical symbol libraries, project/drawing support, component tagging, wire numbering, reports and BOM-related workflows.
- Strong working experience with Autodesk Inventor support, including 3D models, assemblies, drawings, content libraries, add-ins, iLogic/API awareness and CAD data troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting CAD standards, templates, blocks, libraries, plotting, publishing, desktop configuration and engineering design environment issues.
- Experience with application packaging, installation, license administration, upgrades, patching and plugin compatibility validation.
- Experience in utility, power generation, transmission, distribution, substation engineering or regulated engineering environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of PDM/PLM, engineering document management, document lifecycle, revision control and design collaboration processes.
- Experience with Windows desktop administration, server/client troubleshooting, logs, PowerShell/scripting and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate with onsite/offshore teams and deliver support activities within SLA timelines.

- Autodesk Vault administration, PDM, lifecycle management, revision control, user access, permissions, backups, migration and troubleshooting.
- AutoCAD Electrical administration and support, electrical schematic workflows, symbol libraries, component tags, wire numbering, reports, BOMs and project management.
- Autodesk Inventor support, 3D mechanical design environment, assemblies, drawings, content center, iLogic/API awareness, add-ins and design documentation workflows.
- CAD administration, engineering standards, templates, drawing management, plotting/publishing, CAD libraries and desktop configuration.
- PDM Administrator / Engineering Systems Administrator capabilities for engineering document control, versioning, metadata, workflows and approvals.
- SDS/UDH or equivalent utility design application toolkit support, plugin compatibility testing and version upgrade validation.
- Autodesk licensing, subscription management, vendor coordination and product upgrade support.
- Windows desktop/server support, application packaging, SCCM/Intune awareness, PowerShell/scripting and log analysis.
- ITIL incident, problem, service request, change, release and knowledge management practices.
- Security and compliance awareness for regulated utility environments, including access control, audit evidence and secure engineering data handling.
