Radiology Medical Scientific Liaison - Western region The Radiology Medical Science Liaison (MSL) shall act as a scientific expert between Bayer and the radiology community through the dissemination and education of scientific data and material. The Radiology MSL also serves as an important partner to internal stakeholders within Bayer by communicating relevant information from Thought Leaders (TLs) to key cross-functional partners.
This is a vacant 12-month field-based Contract position based out of the Western provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.
What you will do:
- Exchange and dissemination of scientific, educational, and research related information: The MSL plans, partners and engages with TLs as a subject matter expert and colleague both proactively and reactively via various innovative TL engagements tactics and formats to provide dissemination, clarification and education of scientific data, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and professional literature (Both proactive discussions on-label, and reactive discussions for unsolicited off-label questions in alignment with local regulations).
- Establish long-term scientific / strategic relationships with radiologists, diagnostic imaging directors and technologists and referring physicians (e.g. surgeons, oncologists) and with major medical associations, patient organizations and other stakeholders. These relationships will ensure that TLs and organizations have access to relevant scientific information and that pertinent information is shared with the medical community.
- TL Identification / profiling / segmentation and strategy and engagement planning: In alignment with medical strategy as stipulated in the integrated brand plan, the MSL contributes to internal understanding of specific TL interests, expertise and impact in the radiology and medical communities at large.
- Coordination of Scientific Education Activities and Advisory Boards: The MSL plans and organizes scientific training, education events / sessions and advisory boards with TLs within their specific therapeutic area.
- Preparing reports and tracking activities: The MSL submits timely reports of field interactions and events, as well as tracks activities against agreed upon objectives and country medical activity plan.
- Serve as an important partner to internal stakeholders within Bayer by communicating relevant information from TLs to cross-functional partners.
- Lead projects and contribute to brand strategy.
- Foster an inclusive environment of professionalism and safe working practices ensuring Safety and Compliance requirements are met or exceeded
Who you are :
- Advanced degree in science-related field (MD, PharmD, PhD) preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as an MSL preferred or other relevant industry or clinical experience in radiology or oncology.
- In depth knowledge of MRI and CT imaging is preferred.
- An understanding of the role of radiology in various patient pathways (e.g. oncology) and relevant clinical or industry experience is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence appropriate plans and actions.
- Ability to build productive peer-to-peer relationships with top ranking healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and a demonstrated self-starter.
- Excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to assess and summarize scientific and other technical information in a clear, concise manner and target to specific audience.
- Good organization skills with thorough attention to detail ensuring timely follow-through and closure with Thought Leaders.
- Demonstrated business acumen.
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Some overnight travel required

The base salary range for this role is between $96,000 and $143,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.
This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, market data and the applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
