About the role
Project
TheWoodfibre LNGProject is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position
TheRecruiteris an integral part ofWoodfibre LNG's dynamic team. Reporting to the VP – Human Resources, this temporary role will support the company’s recruitment activities with a primary focus on hiring for plant operations, maintenance, and technical roles as the project progresses toward operational readiness.
Working closely with hiring managers and the HR team, the Recruiter will support full-cycle recruitment, from job description development and candidate sourcing to coordinating interviews, offering, and assisting with onboarding. The role will focus on identifying and attracting qualified candidates for a range of operations, trades, and technical positions required to support the project and future plant operations.
The Recruiter will play an important role in ensuring an efficient and positive hiring process, building strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates, and supporting Woodfibre LNG in attracting and hiring qualified talent in a competitive labour market.
Key Responsibilities**:**
The successful applicant will:
- Support full-cycle recruitment for assigned roles including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviews, and offer coordination.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, job requirements, and timelines for plant operations, maintenance, and technical positions.
- Source candidates using a variety of methods including LinkedIn, job boards, industry networks, and employee referrals.
- Participate in job fairs and company events as required.
- Screen and assess candidates for technical qualifications, relevant experience, and cultural fit.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring teams and ensure positive and smooth candidate experience throughout the process.
- Maintain active candidate pipelines for frequently recruited roles such as operators, technicians, and support staff.
- Provide hiring managers with updates on candidate pipelines, market insights, and recruitment progress.
- Support the preparation of employment offers including negotiations and coordinate onboarding with the HR team.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant tracking within company systems.
- Assist with recruitment reporting and hiring metrics as required.
- Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes and candidate engagement.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Required Experience**:**
- 4–7 years of recruitment experience, preferably within energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, industrial, construction, mining, or heavy industry.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting for plant operations, trades, technical, or maintenance roles is preferred.
- Experience managing full-cycle recruitment in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Workday, Workable, or similar platforms to manage candidate pipelines and recruitment processes.
- Strong ability to build relationships with hiring managers and candidates.
- Experience sourcing candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and industry networks.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working in a project-based or industrial environment is considered an asset.
Additional Requirements**:**
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with frontline workers, supervisors, and technical teams.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment with shifting priorities and timelines.
- Expertise with a variety of computer programs (e.g., Office 365, MS teams, DocuSign etc.)
- Professional, proactive, and resourceful approach to recruitment and candidate engagement.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is considered an asset.
- Motivated and willing to take ownership of tasks.
- Energetic in pursuit of continuous improvement processes.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- The position is based in Vancouver Office.

Benefits

About Woodfibre LNG
The Woodfibre LNG Project is operated by Woodfibre Management Ltd, a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Woodfibre LNG facility is being built on the site of the former Woodfibre pulp mill site, which is located about seven kilometers southwest of Squamish, B.C. on the traditional and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation).
Woodfibre LNG is the first LNG export facility in the world to commit to achieving net zero emissions by 2027.
During construction, Woodfibre LNG expects a peak workforce of more than 800 individuals, with over 100 long-term operating positions at the facility once construction is complete.
