Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. As an Addiction Counsellor, you will be an integral part of a collaborative culturally-competent interdisciplinary team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide individual and group counselling to clients experiencing addiction and concurrent mental health disorders
- Facilitate psychoeducational and skills-based group sessions focused on addiction, trauma, mood, and anxiety
- Support clients in developing insight, recovery skills, and relapse prevention strategies, including planning for life after treatment
- Conduct assessments related to substance use, problem gambling, and concurrent disorders to inform treatment planning
- Develop and deliver engaging psychoeducation sessions in both individual and group settings
- Lead group therapy and process sessions, fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary care team including Prime Therapists, physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians
- Contribute to care planning, case management, and discharge planning, connecting clients with appropriate community resources
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support coordinated, high-quality client care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reporting in accordance with organizational standards
- Apply a measurement-based care approach to monitor client progress and outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and ongoing professional development
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counselling)
- Certification or membership with a recognized mental health and/or addiction professional body is preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with addiction, concurrent disorders, and mental health challenges
- Strong skills in group facilitation and individual counselling
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT and DBT (considered an asset)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and detailed documentation
- Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and reflective practice
- Ability to contribute to a client-centered, recovery-oriented, and culturally competent care environment

Homewood Health promotes a fair and competitive compensation model. Pay rates are tailored to reflect differences in operating environments and job requirements. Compensation is influenced by many factors including compensation principles or approach for a role or job function, organizational tenure, experience, qualifications or premium skills, external competitiveness, internal comparability, geography and work performance. Pay range for this position is $ 53,917 - $ 67,380.
