Job Details
We are currently seeking dedicated, adaptable Classroom / Educational Assistants to join our Intermediate or Middle School team (Grades 4–8). The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of educators passionate about providing a holistic, student-centred learning experience.
This role encompasses general classroom management/support and individualized academic or behavioural support. Experience with the Montessori philosophy is an asset, but not a necessity—a desire to learn and embrace our approach is welcome!
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student engagement, academic progress, and social-emotional growth across Grades 4–8.
- Work 1-on-1 or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts, promote study habits, and support diverse learning needs.
- Assist in maintaining an organized, peaceful, and prepared classroom environment.
- Provide active supervision during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch, and transitions.
- Model positive behavior management, encouraging self-regulation and respectful peer relationships.
Desired Qualities & Qualifications
- Successful experience working with and understanding intermediate/middle school students (Grades 4–8).
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults.
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to take direction as well as show initiative.
- Openness and interest in learning about the Montessori philosophy.
- Current First Aid certification (or willingness to acquire upon hire).
- Clean Criminal Record Check
- Current First Aid, or willingness to acquire
Work Schedule & Term Details
These positions are full-time assignments with the opportunity for continuing contracts, running Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:00 PM , starting September 1st, 2026 through June 30th, 2027.
- Bonus Opportunity: Candidates interested in additional hours may also apply to work in our After-School Care Program from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
