About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and technically strong Azure DevOps Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys leading initiatives that drive operational excellence. In this role, you will work hands-on with modern infrastructure and automation tools while acting as a key liaison between development, operations, and support teams.
This is a 6-month contract, hybrid position with the potential for extension. The successful candidate is expected to work from our Toronto office three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
- Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Develop automation solutions leveraging TypeScript
- Implement best practices for workflow automation and pipeline optimization
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes and system reliability
Delivery & Execution
- Deliver high-quality solutions within defined timelines
- Manage and execute complex technical implementations
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline, integration, and deployment issues efficiently
Customer Experience
- Provide a high-touch (“white-glove”) service experience to internal stakeholders.
- Anticipate potential challenges and proactively implement solutions
- Ensure a seamless, end-to-end experience across development and deployment workflows
Communication
- Communicate progress, updates, and timelines clearly and consistently
- Identify and escalate blockers, risks, and dependencies in a timely manner
Collaboration & Ownership

Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and support

Take full ownership of deliverables and drive solutions through to completion.

Work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment
Required Skills & Experiences

5 years of strong experience with Azure DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure

Hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline development

Proficiency in TypeScript

Experience with infrastructure automation and deployment strategies

Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex technical projects

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep)

Exposure to monitoring and logging tools in Azure environments
