The Community Services (CS) department at Fred Victor is a multi-service, multi-site structure that encompasses the 40
Oak Community HUB and community programs, Consumption and Treatment Services, Employment and Training
Services, Drop-Ins, Warming and Keep Cool Programs, and Food Services. Additionally, it operates a social purpose
enterprise with catering services and spearheads a significant peer training initiative that prioritizes the involvement of
individuals with lived experience.
As an Employment Consultant within F red Victor’s Employment and Training Services (ETS) program, you will serve as
the primary point of contact for new job seekers. You will create a welcoming and professional environment while
guiding clients through personalized employment plans tailored to their strengths and needs. Reporting to the Senior
Manager, Employment and Training Services, your role will be central in supporting clients facing employment barriers
by offering coaching, resources, and connections to community supports. You are client-focused, knowledgeable about
employment services, and driven to make a meaningful social impact.

What You Will Do:
- Conduct eligibility assessments and co-develop individualized client action plans focused on employment
readiness.
- Deliver comprehensive employment services including job search workshops, one-on-one coaching, and
referrals to relevant training and community programs.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 200 clients utilizing case management systems to accurately track progress
and outcomes.

Provide intake, assessment, and case management services to support client goal setting and barrier reduction.

Follow up regularly to monitor client progress and adjust plans as needed.

Advocate for clients’ access to employment opportunities, skills training, social assistance, and equitable
services.
- Facilitate client workshops focusing on job search strategies, interview preparation, and workplace integration,
with an emphasis on holistic support.
- Achieve program targets for client engagement, service delivery, and statistical reporting in alignment with
Employment Ontario requirements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employers and community partners to connect clients with
sustainable job opportunities.

Host and support community employer events, job fairs, and networking to foster client-employer connections.

Maintain up-to-date job postings and sector-specific labor market research to support client placement
opportunities.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Career Counselling, Adult Education, Social Services, or a related field,
and/or 5 years of directly related experience.

Minimum 3 years of case management experience working with clients facing complex employment barriers.

Proven experience coaching and mentoring individuals from diverse and underserved populations.

Knowledge of local labor market trends, employment resources, and government assistance programs.

Familiarity with job search techniques, career development tools, and challenges associated with
unemployment.

Strong digital literacy: experience with CRM systems, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics.

Certification as a Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) is an asset.

Experience working with provincial government tools such as CaMS, and online employment services is
preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
- For the Employment Consultant – Integrated Employment Services, Fred Victor offers an hourly rate of $29.40
- 4 weeks of vacation to start + 1 float day
