Role Description The Multi-Store General Manager is a full time, on-site role based in Markham, ON, responsible for overseeing operations across multiple dealership locations. This role includes setting and achieving sales and profitability targets, managing budgets, and monitoring key performance indicators for each store. The Multi-Store General Manager will lead and mentor management teams, support staff development, and foster a culture of customer satisfaction and ethical business practices. Daily responsibilities include optimizing inventory and merchandising, ensuring compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards, and resolving escalated customer concerns. The role also involves collaborating with ownership on strategic initiatives, coordinating marketing and community outreach, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance across the group.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in automotive dealership management or multi-store retail leadership, including responsibility for sales, service, and operations. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate cross-functional teams across multiple locations. Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of KPIs such as sales volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction metrics. Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships, handle escalated issues professionally, and promote a customer-focused culture. Experience with dealership management systems (DMS), CRM tools, and basic proficiency in standard office software. Solid understanding of new and pre-owned vehicle operations, manufacturer programs, and regulatory compliance requirements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and the ability to travel between dealership locations as needed. Post-secondary education in business, management, or a related field is an asset; equivalent experience in automotive or retail leadership is strongly considered.
