About the role
Accountant

Located at the School Board Office at 3143 Jacklin Road in Langford, the Finance Department of School District No. 62 (Sooke) is seeking a full-time permanent Accountant.
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Accountant will provide support and expertise to the District performing a variety of analysis and accounting duties with a focus on working closely with staff to support decision making and the development of budgets, forecasts, financial reports and statements, and preparation for the annual year end audit.

And have the required education and experience noted below:
*Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation; however, candidates enrolled in the CPA program with an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience will be considered. *Minimum two years of recent and related experience with one year of financial analysis, including variance analysis; preferably in the education sector. *Thorough working knowledge of the use of financial and accounting software; familiarity with atrieve ERP an asset. *Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel as well as familiarity with host and internet-based computer applications.

The salary range for this full-time position is $86,541 to $108,176 per annum. Initial placement within the range is based on related education and experience.
