About the role
BC Muslim School is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Core French Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. We are looking for an educator who is enthusiastic, caring, and capable of delivering engaging French lessons that inspire a love for language and learning among students in Grade 5 through Grade 9.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to student growth, reflective practice, and inclusive education. All faiths and value systems are welcome. While adherence to the Muslim faith is not required, knowledge of Islamic culture and traditions is considered a strong asset.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Education from a recognized Canadian university
- Valid teaching certificate from a Canadian province, or in the process of obtaining one
- Specialization in French with fluency equivalent to a native speaker (spoken and written)
- Familiarity with the BC Curriculum, specifically in French as a Second Language (FSL)
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive classroom environment
- Experience teaching primary or intermediate students (preferred)
General Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver French lessons aligned with the British Columbia curriculum
- Develop unit and lesson plans that promote student engagement and language acquisition
- Adapt instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
- Maintain a classroom environment that supports safety, respect, and inclusion
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to foster academic excellence and holistic development
- Integrate cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity into instructional practices

- Valid Canadian or BC Teaching Certificate (or proof of application in process)
- Official post-secondary transcripts
- Criminal Record Check (current within 6 months)
- Two recent professional references
