UPPER INTERMEDIATE TEACHER
Fulltime (1.0 FTE), Term Position
Westcot Elementary School
Effective September 8, 2026 until June 30th, 2027

The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $63,347 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be
prorated based on FTE.

**Required Qualifications and Experience **
Successful applicants for this position will demonstrate the following:
· A clear understanding of the characteristics of the intermediate
student and the ability to develop a positive learning environment addressing
the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of intermediate students
· Demonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess and plan an
upper intermediate program
· A wide repertoire of strategies addressing assessment (formative,
summative, peer and self)
· A proven ability to frame the curriculum and classroom management
around equity, diversity, inclusivity, and reconciliation
· Knowledge and experience in working with learners with varying
needs and support staff; demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction in
the classroom
· Hold a valid BC teaching certificate
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with AIMS Gesture French or
TPRS program
· Knowledge and experience in adapting learning objectives and
strategies to meet the needs of English Language Learners at varying needs
· Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and
proven ability and commitment to work cooperatively and effectively with other
educators
· An understanding of the First People’s Principles as they relate
to the curriculum and our local context
· A willingness to support and enhance ADST and innovative learning
at the upper intermediate level
· Knowledge and proven experience in the area of technology (the
ability to integrate various technologies into the curriculum, modes of
assessment, and its use for student adaptations
