- Be committed to continual professional learning and growth.
- Be excited by our objectives, our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village.
- Have the ability to assess spiritual needs in a sensitive manner.
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, including counseling skills.
It would be an asset if our new Spiritual Care Lead has:
- Previous experience providing multi faith, spiritual care in a senior living community and/or with the elderly in the community.

You can be you while being a part of our family
At Schlegel Villages we are redefining elder care through innovation*,* Village design and culture change, but we know the key to our Village success, and our residents’ satisfaction, is YOU and our teams.
We aspire to provide all members of our communities, including team members, with a life enriching experience. We are family owned and operated and we take our mission seriously: “to provide holistic health care in a home environment, located within an internal neighbourhood design that promotes a caring community with emphasis on optimal health and life purpose for each resident”.
Schlegel Villages is pleased to accommodate individual needs in accordance with the Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), within our recruitment process. If you require accommodation at any time throughout the recruitment process, please speak with the hiring leader.

Each Village is strengthened by the unique lived experience**of every person connected to it. Everyone is included and respected in their spirituality, cultural diversity and individuality. Regardless of ability, heritage or cultural roots, our people are embraced, just as they are, and we celebrate and support life purpose within the community.
At Schlegel Villages, our hiring practices reflect our commitment to human connection and strong relationships that we strive to provide in our Villages. Canadian owned and operated, Schlegel Villages manages high quality long term care and retirement Villages across Ontario. Our Villages benefit from the Schlegel family having over 70 years of direct experience co-owning, managing and operating Long Term Care and Retirement Communities in Ontario.
The Schlegel Family’s overarching mission is to build and strengthen community. One very important and tangible way of building community is by providing care and quality of life for older adults, which we have been doing for 70 years.
Our central belief is that elders should be kept at the centre of our communities, not relegated to the periphery. The Villages we create are places where elders can live a life of meaning and purpose while continuing to stay connected and contributing to the broader community.
