This posting will be used to fill 1 permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.
This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon .

Our team provides advice, support, and procurement functions for all divisions of Health and Social Services procuring goods and services in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
This opportunity
We Are Looking For a Procurement Officer To Provide Advice And Support On Procurement Processes, While Procuring Both Goods And Services For Health And Social Services. The Successful Candidate Will
Procure a variety of required goods and services to support existing and new programming. Provide advice based on best practices in Public Procurement across all levels of Health and Social Services. Support program areas to complete procurement documents. Initiate and manage complex procurements. Navigate multiple financial systems for the implementation of procurements. Work with the vendor community, public, Non-Government Organizations and First Nation Governments to successfully complete procurement processes.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
Experience preparing, analyzing and interpreting financial and procurement documents in a finance, financial services or public sector environment; Experience providing client-centered services in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a government setting; Experience conducting research and analyzing results to support decision-making; Experience working with computerized financial management information systems and Microsoft Excel; and Experience with public procurement processes is considered an asset.

Strong ability to critically assess options and implications and link decisions to strategic goals. Excellent commitment to creating and maintaining a client focused culture. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of Government, alone or within teams and groups to achieve organizational goals.

Job Requirements
This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following
Works in an office setting, exposure to Video Display Terminal (VDT) at least 90% of the time and requires the occasional period of overtime to meet operational deadlines.
