Global Drain Technologies is a leading manufacturer of engineered drainage systems for the food and beverage industry, industrial facilities, and urban landscape projects.
We are looking for an AutoCAD Drafting Assistant to cover a summer term in the Engineering team! The successful candidate will produce shop drawings and provide day-to-day support on a variety of projects within the Production Engineering team. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design of drainage systems for major commercial projects;

• Create shop drawing of our product brands;

• Assist in work order routers and CNC laser nesting programs;

• Provide technical support to sales and production staff.

Education and Experience:

• Education in an accredited technologist program or related study;

• Experience with 2D AutoCAD drafting would be an advantage;

• Strong mechanical aptitude;

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints;

• Ability to work well in a team setting;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Working knowledge of Google or MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Experience with 3D software (Autodesk Inventor experience is an asset);

• Knowledge and understanding of ERP system is an asset;

• Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing methods (laser cutting, press brake forming and welding) is an asset.
