Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Overview
Reporting to the Vice-President and General Manger, as the Maintenance Technician you will ensure the maintenance needs assigned to properties are met in an effective and efficient manner.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Completing thorough daily inspections of properties, and addressing repairs or concerns in a timely manner.
- Handling tenant requests, including proper follow-up and maintenance checklists.
- Performing general and preventative maintenance on interior and exterior of assigned properties. Conducting minor carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Overseeing and assisting external contractors on site as required.
- Ensuring property appearance is maintained to a high standard, including emptying litter receptacles and ashtrays, and removing snow or ice as required.
- Providing on-call support in case of emergencies.

Essential Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of related maintenance experience, preferably in commercial building operations.
- Class 5 driver’s licence and satisfactory verification of drivers abstract.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable using tools and equipment.

Work Conditions
You primarily work on site during regular business hours. Evenings and/or weekends may occasionally be required as emergencies may arise. Must have the flexibility to work on call and after hours on a rotating schedule. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required
