About the role
The Opportunity:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for Produce Clerks at our St. Vital Food Store located at 850 Dakota Street, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This position reports to the Produce Manager.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Maintain sections of merchandise (fresh fruit and vegetables, bagged salads, herbs, salad dressings and spreads, value added section, etc.) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Produce Manager.
- Ensure the Produce Department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
- Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.
- Follow established procedures for trimming and preparation, washing, culling and quality policing, and price marking. Prepare fresh value-added product as per established Co-op recipes and procedures. Ensure consistency in ingredients used and preparation method at all times.

About You:
- Excellent interpersonal skills. We’re looking for someone who builds great relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Strong customer focus and interest in serving others.
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
- Available to work varying shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
