The Pan Am Clinic is one of Canada’s most progressive muscle, bone and joint disease clinics that provide services to over 300,000 people annually across Manitoba and North-western Ontario. It is a renowned centre of excellence that has captured universal recognition for its innovation in care and research and provides services and programs in sports medicine, orthopedic consultation, plastic surgery, physiotherapy and diagnostic imaging. An important key to the success of the clinic is the Pan Am Clinic Foundation (PACF). The Foundation plays a pivotal role in helping people live healthy, active lives by supporting the Clinic’s services, education, and research initiatives and is seeking their next The Director, Major Gifts & Capital Campaign.
The Opportunity
The Director, Major Gifts &Capital Campaign is a senior fundraising leader responsible for driving significant philanthropic revenue and playing a central role in a major, multi-million-dollar capital campaign. Operating as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and Board, this role will lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-capacity donors, including lead and principal gift prospects. The successful candidate will bring a campaign mindset, a strong track record of closing transformative gifts, and the ability to influence and mobilize stakeholders at the highest levels.
This is not a transactional fundraising role—it is a relationship-driven leadership position focused on securing transformational investments and shaping the organization’s long-term philanthropic strategy.
Key Responsibilities Major Gifts Strategy & Revenue Leadership Provides strategic leadership for major gift fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with the Foundation's philanthropic priorities and revenue objectives. Owns and manages a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, with accountability for securing significant annual contributions and advancing transformational giving opportunities. Develops and executes sophisticated donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies tailored to individual donor interests and philanthropic goals. Builds, manages, and continuously refines a robust major gifts pipeline, ensuring consistent prospect movement and achievement of fundraising targets. Establishes measurable fundraising goals and performance metrics, monitoring progress and adapting strategies to maximize revenue growth.
Capital Campaign Leadership Serves as a key member in the planning, execution, and success of the Foundation's capital campaign. Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, and solicits lead and principal gift prospects to secure significant campaign investments. Partners with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop campaign strategy, funding priorities, donor segmentation plans, gift range charts, and implementation timelines. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to campaign volunteers, board members, and fundraising ambassadors to strengthen campaign effectiveness. Leads complex donor discussions, presentations, and solicitation efforts, including the development of customized proposals and gift opportunities.
Donor & Stakeholder Engagement Builds and maintains strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, corporate partners, and community leaders. Conducts strategic donor meetings, presentations, and engagement activities that strengthen relationships and advance fundraising priorities. Positions the Foundation as a compelling philanthropic investment opportunity through clear, impact-focused communication and storytelling. Serves as a senior external ambassador for the Foundation, representing the organization within the community and across stakeholder groups.
Strategic & Organizational Leadership Acts as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director and leadership team on fundraising strategy, campaign planning, and philanthropic growth opportunities. Contributes to fostering a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization by promoting donor engagement and fundraising best practices. Provides analysis and recommendations regarding donor trends, campaign performance, market conditions, and emerging fundraising opportunities. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to align fundraising activities with organizational priorities, strategic initiatives, and program objectives.
Qualifications 7–10+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with a strong emphasis on major gifts and campaign fundraising Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure gifts (experience with seven-figure gifts strongly preferred) Proven involvement in a capital campaign environment (leadership role preferred) Exceptional ability to build trust and credibility with high-capacity donors and senior stakeholders Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and influencing skills Experience working closely with executive leadership and boards
