The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. Position Summary
To undertake various projects in the Roads and Waste Management Divisions and assist other Public Works staff to ensure that projects undertaken are performed effectively and efficiently to the County’s requirements. Duties to be performed at various County facilities including County owned road allowances, County landfills, Works depots, etc.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Operations Maintenance:
-
Provide traffic control for various roadway maintenance, rehabilitation, and capital improvement projects.

Perform general labour as required: grass cutting, brushing, signpost installation, cold patching, sweeping, etc.
General:

Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed

Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis.

Credentials Required
Minimum Formal Education
Currently enrolled in an Ontario high school or a post-secondary institution for the following school year.
Experience

Experience in computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint) is an asset.

A valid Ontario driver’s licence is required.
Summer Student positions with the County of Lambton may be dependent on funding and the funding criteria, which specifies that students must:

Be between 15 and 30 years of age

Registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year

Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

Legally entitled to work in Canada

Will not have another full-time job
