Project Details:

Based at our project in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, this will be a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation opportunity. Preference will be given to those who reside in Northern Territories.

Responsibilities:

The Construction Miner on our remote project in the Northwest Territories is responsible and accountable for the following:

• Construct and maintain timbered raises, bulkheads, vent doors, and underground structures (using wood, steel, shotcrete, or other materials)
• Installation of ground support and anchors using a jackleg, stoper, or plugger
• Forming and pouring of concrete
• Operation of underground mining equipment such as scissor deck, telehandler, and loader
• Assisting service crews with installation and maintenance of fans, vent ducting and mine services
• Follow all policies and processes at the mine site and underground
• Must be prepared to adhere to all legislated regulations and company Health & Safety policies and perform the role safely and ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority
• Other mining and construction related tasks as required

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years working full-time in an underground mine environment, experienced in construction
• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs. repetitively and on a regular basis
• Experience in construction/carpentry, concrete and welding considered an asset
• Dependable and able to commit to a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation (day shift and night shift)
• Able to work independently
• Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team
• Valid Drivers Licence

This position involves frequent air travel to and from the work site. Applicants must meet all legislated requirements for air travel to work at the remote site camp. You will be required to work both dayshift and nightshift as part of the rotational schedule 21 days on site, 21 days off site. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo a substance test and pre-employment testing.
