The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) provides the residents of the Northwest Territories with access to quality programs, services and support to assist them in making informed and productive choices for themselves and their families with regard to education, training, careers, employment and labour, child development, languages, culture and heritage.
Job Information
The Planning and Reporting Specialist provides leadership in planning, monitoring, and reporting on programs and strategic initiatives within the Department of Education, Culture and Employment. The position supports evidence-based decision-making by coordinating planning and reporting across department-led activities, including offering support to partners in the Department and across the Northwest Territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support departmental and program-level strategic, business, and operational planning processes
- Develop and implement monitoring, evaluation, and reporting frameworks and tools
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Prepare reports, briefing materials, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders
- Provide training and guidance to build planning, reporting, and evaluation capacity across the Department
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and support continuous program improvement
Qualifications & Experience
- A Degree in social sciences with coursework in research methods and/or program evaluation and two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Experience in strategic planning, reporting, and program evaluation
- Strong analytical, research, and data interpretation skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of northern, cultural, and government contexts is an asset
Equivalences
- Master's degree in the social sciences with a focus or demonstration of coursework in research methods and/or program evaluation, no minimum experience needed.
- "Relevant experience"= Qualitative/quantitative research/program evaluation/data analysis
- Diploma in the social sciences with a focus or demonstration of coursework in research methods and/or program evaluation, and four (4) years of relevant experience.
