About the role
The Urban Resource Navigator supports Waterhen Lake First Nation (WLFN) members living in or transitioning to an urban setting by providing practical, coordinated assistance and guidance. This role focuses on building individual and family capacity, supporting members during periods of transition, and responding to situations where members may be at risk or in crisis. This position reports to the Director of Operations at WLFN. Working from a culturally respectful and community-centered approach, the Navigator helps members access services, stabilize their circumstances, and strengthen their ability to navigate systems independently over time. Key Responsibilities:1. Member Support & Capacity Building Provide one-on-one support to members transitioning to or living in Saskatoon Assist members in identifying needs, setting goals, and developing practical plans Support life skills development including housing, employment readiness, and budgeting.2. Transition & Crisis Support3. Service Navigation & Coordination4. Outreach & Engagement5. Advocacy & Barrier Reduction6. Documentation & Reporting Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field (or equivalent experience) 23 years experience in community support roles on-reserve or urban setting. Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset Skills & Competencies: Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to respond in crisis situations. Organizational and time management skills. Cultural awareness and professionalism. Working Conditions: Based in Saskatoon Urban Office Some evening/weekend work may be required. Local travel within Saskatoon may be required.
