About the role
**Position Title:**Warehouse Associate
**Reports to:**Warehouse Lead Hand
**Direct Reports:**None
Salary:$23.00/hr
Success in the Role
A successful candidate in this role works effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a strong commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and safety. They take ownership of receiving and inventory processes, proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, and maintain high standards in food safety and product handling. Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment are critical to success.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Lead Hand, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and accurately recording incoming deliveries from multiple vendors. This role ensures that all products meet food safety and quality standards and that all documentation and inventory records are properly maintained.
The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in supporting production by organizing and staging products for kitchen and catering operations. This position requires the safe operation of material handling equipment and maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.
Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Forklift certification preferred
-
Experience in the food industry is an asset

Experience using ERP/SAP systems is an asset

Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Basic mathematical and data entry skills
Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare the receiving dock to accept incoming shipments
-
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming products against purchase orders
-
Ensure all products meet food safety standards (including verification of expiration dates and allergen requirements such as nut-free, pork-free, and shellfish-free)
-
Inspect products to ensure they are in saleable condition with acceptable code dating
-
Operate a forklift or electric pallet jack safely to move and store products
-
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations

Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and system entries for tracking and reporting

Oversee the accurate loading and unloading of deliveries

Sort, organize, and distribute incoming shipments appropriately

Conduct monthly inventory counts and report discrepancies to the Warehouse Lead Hand

Investigate and resolve issues related to missing shipments, documentation, or discrepancies

Support production teams by staging products for catering and kitchen use

Perform supplier pick-ups using a company vehicle as required

Follow all company procedures, policies, and food safety standards

Perform other duties as assigned
