Applicants with assessment and trauma-informed practice experience are preferred. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, including Indigenous, Black, people of colour, all genders, 2SLGBTQ+, and persons with disabilities. **Qualifications and Experience** The successful applicant must have or be eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch, and possess: * Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application). * **Copy of letter from the TRB stating requirements to attain permanent certification status if certificate is conditional.** * Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies. * Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching. * A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies. * Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation). * The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting. * Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum. * Training and successful experience in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning. * A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills. * A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting. * commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum. * The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community. * A current, valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel as required. **Interested applicants are required to supply** * Resume * Cover Letter * Teaching Evaluations * Practicum Reports * Certificates & Diplomas (Bachelor of Education) * Teaching Qualifications/Licenses (BC Teaching Certificate, BC TQS card) * Copy of letter from the TRB stating requirements to attain permanent certification status if certificate is conditional. * Transcripts * 3 current professional references and their email addresses * By applications, candidates give permission to School District No. 57 to contact any references or any past or present employers named in the application * Copy of letter from the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada outlining any work restrictions/requirements/deadlines if such documentation is in place. * **Compensation** * Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC; Up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country. * Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 - $95,681. Geographically we expand from Mackenzie, through Prince George, to McBride and Valemount. We serve 41 schools: 32 Elementary schools, 8 Secondary schools and 1 District Learning Support center for alternative and alternate learning opportunities. We provide educational programs for approximately 15,000 students inclusive of early learning, after school art and sports programing, trades programs, and dual credit programs with our local post-secondary schools. We support Lheidli T’enneh students, McLeod Lake students and Takla students living on reserve through our Local Education Agreements.
