About the role
The ratemaking team (Overall rate level, Ontario, Atlantic and Western regions) is looking for a candidate to join them as an actuarial team lead. Are you eager to innovate and passionate about process optimization? Want to put your knowledge of overall rate level analysis to work? Are you looking for a role where you can make an impact and have the opportunity to lead, influence and transform DGIG’s decision-making process for rate adjustment strategies? You may be just the person we’re looking for! More specifically, you will be required to:
- Review the current process for rate indications, identify any shortcomings and find innovative solutions to make it more precise and effective.
- Help implement new work processes for producing rate indications.
- Oversee the production of rate indications and coordinate work with ratemaking teams and corporate actuarial services.
- Coach the ratemaking teams in OAW and the members of the Overall Rate Level Analysis, OAW Auto team on the rate indications process and the selection of underlying assumptions.
- Develop and recommend rate adjustment strategies
- Monitor auto insurance product profitability in OAW markets

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including extensive experience with the overall rate-level analysis process
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
