Accounts Payable and Purchasing Technician #2010
About the role
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and well-organized individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable and Purchasing Technician.
This is a technical and operational position, ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in a role focused on execution, accuracy, and follow-up.
Your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Review, sort, and code vendor invoices.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system.
- Verify consistency between invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents.
- Prepare and process payments (cheques, wire transfers, electronic payments).
- Follow up on vendor accounts, credits, and discrepancies.
- Respond to supplier inquiries and collaborate with internal teams.
- Produce various reports related to accounts payable.
- Provide administrative support to the purchasing department.
- Perform any other related tasks required for the smooth operation of the accounting department.

Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of accounts payable experience (essential requirement).
- Mandatory knowledge of Canadian accounting standards.
- DEC in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience in a Canadian accounting environment (invoicing, vendors, payments).
- Comfortable in a technical, operational, and structured role requiring accuracy and consistency.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable using computer tools and accounting systems (Excel, ERP – depending on the environment).
Important: This position is intended for someone who wishes to develop and maintain expertise in accounts payable within an accounting team. It is not designed as a transitional role toward a professional accounting designation (CPA) or advanced financial analysis functions.
Salary: To be determined according to experience Schedule: Day shift, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday - Full time Status : Permanent
