Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000
Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.
Hours per week: 37.5
Paid leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year

SAIT is looking for a Finance Transformation Specialist to join our Finance Department!
The Specialist advances financial operations by leading strategic projects, driving continuous improvement, and championing change across teams. The position partners closely with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to modernize processes, optimize systems, and enhance data-driven decision-making.
The Specialist leads cross-functional initiatives, applying strong project management discipline, process design expertise, and thoughtful change management to ensure successful adoption and sustained improvements. This role also serves as a change agent for AI literacy and adoption within the Finance Department.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about innovation in finance, enjoys solving complex business challenges, and excels at bringing people, processes, and technology together to deliver meaningful transformation.
How you'll contribute

- Project Delivery and Leadership:
- Lead finance transformation projects, including scoping, planning, execution, and post-implementation evaluation
- Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure project objectives, timelines, and outcomes are achieved
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including business requirements, project charters, project plans, process maps, and status reports
- Business Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improvement and promote a culture of continuous improvement through recommended best practices and ongoing enhancements
- Standardize finance business improvement processes, templates, and approaches across the organization
- Identify finance industry process best practices and support their implementation at SAIT
- Understand and document business requirements, including process maps, standard operating procedures, training materials, and communication documents
- Collaboration and Change Management:
- Work across Finance and departments that interact with Finance processes to build strong relationships and understand opportunities and challenges
- Act as a change agent by promoting effective change management practices across the Finance department
- Develop and execute change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies
- Digital Innovation:
- Evaluate and implement AI-based and automation tools to streamline financial processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance data insights
- Champion the adoption of emerging technologies and support the development of digital finance capabilities
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Support business process and system changes within the Finance department in alignment with the organization’s strategic direction
- Ensure new processes and systems meet internal control requirements, compliance standards, policy and procedure expectations, and data governance standards
- Solve complex business challenges based on guidance from the Manager, Finance Business Solutions, or Finance Leadership
What you bring

- Post-secondary degree in Business or a related field.
- PMP and CPA designations are preferred.
- Education or certification in business process improvement, such as Lean Six Sigma or similar is preferred.
- 5+ years of related accounting experience.
- 3+ years of project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in business process improvement.
- Change management or leadership experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with AI, automation, or digital finance tools is an asset.
- Skills:
- Project Management - Ability to lead cross functional projects through implementation, ensuring timelines, scope, and outcomes are achieved.
- Process Improvement & Optimization - Expertise in analyzing and redesigning financial processes.
- Change Management - Skill in guiding teams through transitions, building adoption strategies, and communicating effectively during transformation.
- Financial Acumen - Understanding of finance operations (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, AP/AR, GL, procurement, contracts, reporting) to inform meaningful improvements.
- AI & Automation Proficiency - Ability to evaluate, implement, and support AI-driven solutions such as RPA, workflow automation, predictive analytics, or machine learning.
- Systems & Technology Literacy - Understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics) and how technology enables transformation.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication - Highly effective at building relationships, explaining complex concepts clearly, and influencing across levels.
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking - Ability to break down issues, assess root causes, and design practical, scalable solutions.
- Adaptability & Continuous Learning - Skilled in thriving in ambiguity, embracing evolving technologies, and adjusting to shifting business priorities.
- Self-Motivation - Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive change with minimal oversight.
- Customer Service - Skilled in delivering superior customer service and training end-user groups with varying levels of skills and knowledge.
