About the role
Position Summary and Objectives
The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance and repairs to electrical systems at Place de Ville. They will support the Operations Manager in establishing medium to long-term replacement strategy of electrical equipment. Some of the primary responsibilities include involvement in reviewing, planning, organizing and overseeing modification to electrical installations.
Responsibilities
Deliver Excellent Service to Tenants
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to all electrical systems including medium and low voltage switchboards, distribution, breaker panels, motor starters, control centers and lighting systems.
- Assist the Chief Engineer and the Operations Manager in the planning of new installations, in conjunction with contractors.
- Assist the Operations Manager in the review of systems and designs to ensure that standards are met and that operations won't be adversely affected by on-going or future modifications to the systems.
- Arrange for access and support contractors in their work when required and ensure that the work is performed safely andas per established specifications.
- Assist the Operations Manager in establishing the mid to long-term replacement of these systems or part thereof.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to the equipment and in the design of these systems.
- Work co-operatively with in-house staff and contractors.
- Ensures that required safety procedures are in place when working on electrical equipment.
- Stop un-safe work when monitoring contractors' work
Perform other related responsibilities as requested from time to time
Qualifications
Education
- Ontario Electrician certificate (309 Construction and Maintenance or 442 Industrial)
- Fire Alarm Systems Testing and Modifications certificate (CFAA or ECAO)
Professional Experience
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and ESA standards.
- Experience with automated DDC controls system.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook); Ability to identify and resolve operational issues; Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, team player, with good organizational skills.
