Job Description
What is the opportunity?
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the actuarial and risk management functions for international business.
What will you do?
- Support and enhance the actuarial and risk management functions for the International business, with a focus on month-end valuation reporting. Other duties/workstreams include but are not limited to: mortality studies, in-force data updates, and actuarial modelling.
- Work closely with the business and other functional partners on strategic projects and tactical actions, and assist these areas in achieving their goals
- Support ad-hoc work in areas to support teams working on model changes, actuarial issue investigations or assumption changes.
What will you need to succeed?
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree (or above) majoring in Actuarial Science. Other relevant Majors (e.g. Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics) are acceptable if accompanied with demonstrated knowledge of Actuarial concepts
- Analytical and Mathematical Proficiency: Strong aptitude for mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate findings, both verbally and in writing.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, potentially other software like SQL or R, Moody's AXIS experience is an asset, and familiarity with actuarial concepts and methodologies.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy and meticulousness in data handling and analysis.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant actuarial experience
- 3 SOA Exams
- Working experience with Moody's Axis, SQL, R and Tableau
