About the role
We’re seeking a strategic and experienced IT leader to oversee service delivery, project execution, and technology alignment with business goals. The Manager, Information & Technology will lead a high-performing team, manage vendor and partner relationships, and drive innovation across the organization. This role requires strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to guide teams through change while maintaining service excellence. You’ll be responsible for modernizing systems, maintaining alignment with regulatory requirements, and ensuring technology is a trusted enabler of business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the IT team to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee vendor and distributor relationships, ensuring service excellence, SLA compliance, and effective support in an outsourced-first environment.
- Plan and execute IT projects and programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, stakeholder engagement, and timely, on-budget delivery.
- Champion best practices in IT service delivery and project management, including ITIL and Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
- Guide the organization through technology transitions with minimal disruption, applying strong change management principles.
- Align IT strategy with corporate goals and communicate technical concepts clearly to executives and stakeholders.
- Negotiate vendor contracts and pricing, manage IT spend, and ensure compliance with governance, risk management, and business continuity standards.
- Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including testing and implementation of backup and failover systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business needs and ensure IT solutions support organizational objectives.
- Promote a respectful and transparent work environment, holding team members accountable and supporting professional development.
- Monitor and improve service quality using performance metrics, KPIs, and dashboards.
- Research and implement emerging technologies to modernize business processes and systems.
- Facilitate training, education, and requirements gathering sessions with internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience:
- Proven IT Leader: 10+ years in IT operations, including 5+ years managing teams, vendors, and budgets.
- Strategic Vision: Skilled at aligning technology roadmaps with business goals and driving large-scale IT initiatives.
- Project & Vendor Expertise: Experienced in leading complex IT projects and negotiating with vendors to ensure SLA compliance and cost control.
- People & Change Champion: Strong track record in building high-performing teams and guiding organizations through technology transitions.
- Operational Excellence: Deep knowledge of disaster recovery, ITIL best practices, and full lifecycle management of software and hardware.
- Collaborative Communicator: Adept at translating technical concepts for executives and working cross-functionally; insurance industry experience is a plus
- Insurance industry experience is considered an asset.
- Certifications (Assets): ITIL, PMP, Change Management, Leadership certifications.
- Language: English is required, bilingualism is an asset
Security Clearance Requirement: You will be required to undergo security clearance prior to your start date. This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship status.
