Worley Canada Construction is seeking an Intermediate Estimator to work with our Estimating team in our Edmonton, AB office.

Work Conditions Edmonton Head Office based schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Monday-Thursday 8.75 hours per day, Friday 5 hour day). Work from home available on Fridays.
Responsibilities

Be an effective contributor on the project bid team.

Know the proposal scope and your role within the proposal team.

Review all RFP documentation and have a thorough understanding of the Proposal and all submission requirements.

Participate in the bid kickoff and final review meetings.

Ensure sound, well defined quantity-based budgets are developed utilizing RFP documentation such as SOW, drawings, MTO’s, 3D models, project specifications, etc.

Support quantity checks at a summary level for other aspects of the estimate.

Develop bid cycle schedules to support proposals by itemizing all deliverables from all aspects of the works and ensuring timelines are met.

Prepare material takeoffs as required to support the estimate for piping, steel, mechanical, civil, Etc.

Ensure Client and Worley Work Breakdown Structure’s (WBS) are adhered to while quantifying and inputting work.

Liaise with Operations group (i.e. Construction Managers, Project Controls, etc.) to present key elements of the estimate which will influence the development of a bid schedule and project execution plan that is accurate, achievable and meets owner’s requirements.

Support all supply chain requirements by establishing detailed vendor and third party subcontractor scope documentation along with detailed reviews and evaluations for recommendations on successful proponents.

Review and support the preparation of proposal documentation with the proposal team and ensure completeness and accuracy prior to submission of proposals.

Other duties as deemed necessary
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required. Technical Degree or Diploma preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in Estimating in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical industrial construction within field and mod yard locations.
- Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tool such as: MS Office, NAVIS Works, Adobe Reader, Excel.
- Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable – open to change, new ideas and methods.
- Ability to coordinate activities to meet requirements in a timely fashion.
